Taylorsville Dayzz and Swimming Pool Fun

It's been a while hasn't it? It's been a busy 10 days but as you can see from the pictures, it's been fun as well. This weekend was Taylorsville Dayzz in Taylorsville. I decided to take Keith there and check it out because I haven't been able to do so since we moved here. Fernanda was doing a shower for her sister Aline on Saturday and she took Kyle with her so that I could spend some time with Keith. Earlier in the day we saw Wall-E which I highly recommend. It's a really cute movie. Then Keith took a nap and I relaxed a little bit before going over to the park to check out the carnival. Keith loved it! He want on a bunch of slides and did an obstacle course. The ride in the first picture was one of his favorites and he went on it twice in a row. There was also a little train ride that I went on with him. We then went over to the pony ride and he like riding a real horse. Next to the pony ride was a petting zoo with goats, sheep, pigs, a donkey and a lama and he thought it was the coolest thing to be able to pet the animals. We ended up staying there for about 2 hours and that was enough sun for me. We ate some ice cream and some kabobs from a little peruvian place there and then we went over to Monique's house to pick up Fernanda and Kyle. The other pictures are from earlier in the week. Fernanda took the boys swimming two days in a row. These pictures are from the Murray pool and they had a lot of fun. The second day they went to the pool out by the olympic oval in Kearns and they didn't like that as much and got sun burnt. On Sunday we went and hung out at my parents house and ate some chimichungas and played and watched Pirates of the Carribean 3. My family is coming over to the house today to help out with our crappy back yard. We're trying to whip that thing in to shape so we can plant some grass and have a place for the kids to play. The missionaries have been coming over on Thursdays to help as well. They've been doing it as their service project for the week and it's helped out a lot. I'm hoping by the end of the summer we can have a backyard full of grass so that maybe next year we can add a swingset so that Fernanda's family will actually want to have family gatherings at our house!

Little Francisco Fankhauser

Ok so his name really isn't Francisco but that's what my wife and I are calling him until we find out his name at his baby blessing. He was born sometime last night between 8 and 9. He weighed 7 lbs 3 oz and is 22 inches long. We will be going up to LDS hospital to visit when I get home from work. BreeAnn and Francisco are expected to go home on Saturday so everything is going well. After he was born the doctor was talking to BreeAnn and she said that due to Francisco's size, she thinks she miscalculated the due date by a week or so because the original due date was anywhere between July 11 - 14. Congratulations BreeAnn!!

Breaking News!!

At 11:00 p.m. last night, BreeAnn's water broke. They arrived at the hospital around 11:30 that night and she's been in labor ever since; lucky her, that must be so much fun!! (careful ladies I hope you could see that last part oozing with sarcasim). My dad said that BreeAnn is "100% effaced and at about a 4 in dialation. So, she should be having a baby today." I will keep everyone posted as more news comes in. The only piece of info I will not be able to reveal is the baby's name because BreeAnn and Tyler are taking part of Operation: Secret Baby Name; in other words, the baby's name will not be revealed until the blessing!! All the other vitals will be made available to the public. I will keep everyone posted.

It's Been an Action Packed Past 5 Days!!

Wow a lot has happened since I last posted!! I'll do the best I can to remember it all. My brother Roury came back from his mission on Thursday just after 1:00 pm. It was great to see him again and the poor guy was dead tired but we kept him going all day long! After the airport everyone went to eat at Carl's Jr except for Fernanda and I; we had to run some errands on the way back so my parent's took some food to their house for us. Then we all went to my parents house and hung out. We watched Roury open his Christmas and birthday presents and then we just talked and played some Rockband, which I am proud to say I got my whole family addicted to!! We ended up just sleeping over there which worked out well because I went golfing with Roury and my parents the next day. Roury of course kicked my butt even though he had only been home for 24 hours! I then went back to work and back to my parents house to hang out some more that night. On Saturday I played with the boys at home while Fernanda did some cleaning and then we went to Jake and Jana's house to hang out for the first time since their baby Oli was born. We of course played Rockband, and had a good time just hanging out and having fun. Then on Sunday it was Roury's homecoming at church so we went to my parents ward and then had fun talking to all the relative I hadn't seen in a while at my parents house. I appreciate everyone's words of support, love and prayers offered on our behalf. Then we watched the U.S. Open (I am a big Rocco Mediate fan now) and Game 5 of the NBA Finals which the Celtics let slip out right from under their fingers. Yesterday after work, Bethanie came along with us for family night and we went and saw The Incredible Hulk. I really liked it but I don't think it was that much better than the first one which so many people seem to hate. The ending has me really excited for a number of sequals but I won't give the exact reason to my excitement away to those who have not seen the movie yet. After the movie we went and got some Gellatto at Mr. C's a little place inbetween the Best Buy and Rue 21 stores and Jordan Landing. They have awesome Gellatto, all should go there and bask in its goodness. Last but not least, I am also participating in a sports blog call The Shot Clock Chronicles. I have a link to it in the Friends & Family section of my blog but here's another link to it anyway:

http://shotclockchronicles.blogspot.com

I will be posting most of my sports commentary in that blog so that I keep it to a minimum in this one. That's all the news for now, have a wonderful week!

Roosevelt

This past Monday was my sister-in-law Aline's birthday. So early Monday morning Fernanda & the boys along with Monique and her kids, Yara and little Cristian all went out to Roosevelt to surprise Aline. They had a really fun day. These two pictures were taken at a lake near Aline's house in Roosevelt although I'm not sure of the name. Keith had so much fun that he didn't want to leave! It was a comfortable 80 degrees on Monday so all had a fun time and Fernanda even got a sunburn! I was unable to go since I had to work but we hope to go up there for a weekend this summer so we can visit and hang out with that crazy Pett family! :) Fernanda and the boys came home around 2 o'clock yesterday afternoon. I had come home from work around 11:30 because I was not feeling well and had been asleep for about two hours. Around 5 or 5:30 we all laid down to take a nap and I woke up around 9 last night to take my stuff out of Roury's pickup and get some whites in the wash, iron some pants for work, and watch the 2nd half of the Celtics game. Fernanda woke up around 10 and Kyle woke up around 11. Keith stayed asleep until 9 o'clock this morning!! That's about 15 hours that he slept for those of you counting at home. He's going to keep my mom busy while Fernanda does cleaning there this afternoon.

Some Pictures from my Phone

These are some pictures I took off of my phone. The first one is of Keith playing in the dirt. He likes to pretend that he's helping Fernanda plant flowers. The second one is of Keith and his cousin Cristian playing Rockband. Keith does a pretty good job playing the drums and Cristian is amazing on the guitar. Cristian will be six this month and he kicks my butt all over the place on medium on this game. Then the last 3 are from Mother's Day at Outback Steakhouse. Kyle was in the hospital still, going on day 11 there and we needed a break from hospital food. In the last picture Keith was tired of taking pictures and was ready to eat his macaroni and cheese which was absolutely amazing. Fernanda and I finished off what he couldn't eat because it was sooooo good. Have a wonderful week everyone!

I Have Proof!!

I love teasing my sister-in-law Katie about how she hardly ever drinks soda. I don't really care that she doesn't, I just have fun teasing her when she's the only one drinking water and everyone else has a soft drink. Anyway, last week Rylee & Katie were my personal chauffers for a couple days while I was taking care of some car problems. This picture was taken I believe on May 29th. Anyway, they came over to the house to visit after running some errands and Katie brought some chili cheese fries from Carl's Jr. to eat since she hadn't eaten for a while. Rylee was pretty tired and asked for a drink to keep him awake and I had some Mountain Dew in the fridge. While we were talking, Katie grabbed the Mountain Dew and took a drink; I said "wait do that one more time!" So I took a picture to prove to the world that Katie Kim McDermott does in fact enjoy the occasional Mountain Dew from time to time! :)

Graduation

My graduation has come and gone and it was a really nice day. It started at 1:45 pm Saturday afternoon but the best part happened before that; Kyle was finally feeling good enough that we decided to have him come to the E Center with us! It was nice having my whole little family there with me. When we got there I met up with my friends Rachel and Richard and while we were backstage I found a couple other friends from school, Alex and David. So we all got in the same line and that's who I ended up sitting with. We had fun talking and catching up and we all did our best to help Rachel and David laugh because they were both having a major anxiety attack, so we had a good time. The first picture from graduation is Fernanda and I after the ceremony ended and I was on my way back to get my actual diploma which I was disappointed to see did not have my major written on it. You would think that a school which charges as much per semester as Westminster does that the least they could do is put your major on your diploma, but whatever. The second photo is me walking back to my chair after I received my diploma cover onstage. The third picture is of my friend Rachel, me and Dara Hoffa, one of the best professors I had at Westminster. She taught a couple of the accounting classes I took and was my academic advisor. The fourth picture is the picture I sent out with the few invitations I purchased (it was kind of expensive) and those were the clothes I wore on Saturday. After graduation my parents took us to dinner at Rodizio Grill where we stuffed ourselves with delicious Brazilian churrasco (barbeque). After that I took Fernanda and the boys to Murray park so they could play with their cousins and let loose some of that energy and I went to buy my graduation present, an XBOX 360!!!! I bought two games to play with it, NBA 2K8 and RockBand. RockBand is a very fun game that I highly recommend to anyone who has not played it yet. I also love basketball video games so 2K8 was a must for me but I'm going to take it back to the store today because the disc seems to have some problems. Anyway, we started playing as soon as we got home that night. Keith did a pretty good job on the drums and Fernanda and Bia (my niece) took turns singing while I also played drums and took turns on the guitar with Henrique (my nephew). We stayed up until almost 3 am that night!! It was great fun though. My mom took some more pictures of the graduation so I'll post those as soon as she sends them to me. A special thanks to my mom and dad for the wonderful dinner and helping to keep the boys entertained during the commencement and thanks to Andy & Valerie for coming and showing their support, I really appreciate it.
