Yardwork - July 10, 2008

So without using too much harsh language our backyard is a piece of crap. The major regret we have about buying this house is that the backyard wasn't finished and I had no idea how much work it is to get a backyard whipped into shape when you can't pay professionals to do it. Luckily, we've had some very helpful missionaries lead by Elder Krieger who decided to help us with our yard. My family also came over for a family night to help out. They helped us put the finishing touches on our frontyard which needed a little work as well. Our backyard actually has good size and would be a lot of fun to play in. So we are hoping that by the end of the summer it is ready to lay sod. The first two pictures are good shots of the backyard and the amount of missionaries that have been coming out to help us. The third is our frontyard and my brother Roury "working" hard. The fourth is Keith playing in our cherry tree and the fith is Kyle playing with the water which he loves doing. The sixth is a picture of Keith and I will all the missionaries that have been coming out to help us. The seventh is Elder Krieger and his companion Elder Bayba is the missionary in the second picture with the orange shirt taking a break on our dirt patio. Fun times in at our house that's for sure. The backyard already looks 100 times better than it did when we moved in and we added about 3 or 4 more feet to our backyard by cutting into our dirt patio. We've been taking that dirt and spreading it around the backyard to level it out. Then once we're done, we'll buy a truckload or two of compost to use as topsoil and then hopefully we have enough money to buy sod. That would be a dream come true for us, a place to play with our kids and a place they can play with their friends and cousins and we don't have to worry about them playing by the road.

Wow, looks like you had tons of work to do...But luckily you had help.
Except looking at all those missionaries makes me feel old...They all look so young!
Good luck on finishing up, I hope it works out.

Glad we could help. It was fun. Really the hardest thing we did that night was when me and Bethanie had to carry like 10 snowcones between the 2 of us.... Phew... Hard, hard work! :)

I'm glad you're updating your blog more... Layoff the Facebook Mob Wars a little and join the married people revolution of blogs Lucas! Seriously....

I am glad you have an update, I love reading your blog. It looks like you have been working hard- but I am sure that it makes you appreciate it more, right?:) It was fun to see all of you at Lagoon, oh the memories, I haven't been there in like 7 years.
